ENTRY AND QUARANTINE PROCESS IN MALAYSIA

In an effort to curb the spread of the COVID-19 outbreak, the Government of Malaysia, beginning 24th July 2020, has decided that all individuals entering Malaysia from abroad will be subjected to compulsory quarantine orders at the Quarantine Stations set by the Government of Malaysia.

All individuals must bear 100% of the cost of quarantine. 

Before Arrival in Malaysia  

Complete the Letter of Undertaking and Indemnity (LoU) 

All individuals travelling to Malaysia must complete the Loan and Indemnity Letter (LoU). 

Obtain the Letter of Permission to from the Consulate General of Malaysia, Melbourne.

All individuals travelling to Malaysia must complete and submit the Loan and Indemnity Letter (LoU) along with a copy of their passport via email to the Consulate General of Malaysia, Melbourne, at least three (3) days before the date of departure.

Subject to approval, the Consulate will issue the Letter of Permission via email to the applicant. The letter will have a validity of one (1) month.

Present the LoU and approval letter from the Consulate to your respective Airlines, other Public Transport Companies and the Immigration Department of Malaysia

The LoU and letter of approval from the Consulate must be submitted during the flight / public transport check-in process.

Failure to submit this letter may result in the person being denied permission to board the aircraft, or other public transportation.

For entry by road, failure to submit the document will complicate the process of entry into Malaysia.

Upon arrival in Malaysia, the LoU will be witnessed upon presentation to the NADMA officer.

All individuals travelling to Malaysia must download the MySejahtera app and fill in your personal details in the app. 

Contact your airline carrier to check for further requirements prior to boarding. 

Although individuals entering Malaysia no longer require to undergo a swab test prior to their arrival, we recommend for you to contact your airline carrier for further requirements outlined by the airline carrier to board. 

Upon Arrival in Malaysia  

Mandatory health screening by the Health Ministry of Malaysia (KKM)

All individuals arriving in Malaysia must undergo health screening upon arrival. The health screening process includes sample taking for the COVID-19 swab test. 

Customs and Immigration 

All individuals will clear customs and immigration as per usual after the health screening process. 

Assigned to designated Government Quarantine Center 

Individuals are with negative results will be sent to designated Government Quarantine Centers for quarantine for 14 Days. 

Individuals with positive results will be sent to the hospital.
